Hello all. I have just bought a cheap (as in it hasn't cost a lot yet) 1985 xjs V12 in Genadier red (not original colour). Its done 129000 miles but has had engine, gearbox and brake rebuilds. It has been sitting for a while so I plan to start with changing fluids and filters.
The stance is odd, front end up too high back end down too low. The front springs have just been changed, so I will have to investigate whether the problem is at the front or the back.
The interior is doeskin I think. I plan to recolour it to see if I can make it look less tired.
Best wishes
Peter
whats going on there is you still have a tired and worn rear suspension and spring set up ! with the old front springs and shockers still in position the car would have sat flat , having changed the front for new you now need to change the rear ,as its up at the front and the old rear set up is down at the back ! had the rear suspension been done first the car would have sat higher at the back and lower at the front on the old front springs given the ages of these cars today the majority are long over due for a suspension over haul its tired old sagging springs and worn and leaking in many cases old shock absorbers , this picture shows my 1981 car days after fitting new front springs and shock absorbers the rear shocks and springs had been changed for new before this, you can see how the car now sits square on the ground with both front and rear new suspension fitted , a much easier job changing the rear supension two sets of shockers and springs at each side of the rear axle on the car regards
Many thanks for the comment. I have sourced replacement parts and will post once I have had the rears done.
Regards
Peter
