Evening all
We collected our '92 4.0 part-facelift today and enjoyed the "honeymoon" drive from Northampton back to West Midlands.
The car has had a new battery fitted, so radio shows CODE and the radio code cards are not in the otherwise complete book pack.
What is the best way to obtain the code??
Our XK X150 and S-type have the cards intact.....help, please!
Any Jaguar dealer should provide the code free of charge if you give them the VIN number. If they want you to pay, tell them to forget it and you will report them to Jaguar as it is a free service. Then phone the supplying dealer in the Driver’s handbook. They should also give you the code free of charge.
Many thanks, we shall give that a go. Other than that, we have completed our initial appraisal (we bought at the CCA sale at NEC) and it looks like one new rear exhaust mounting (by tailpipe), one headlight bulb and lots of fun!
Looking forward to seeing you all at an event this summer then?
you will be a LOT better off just taking that unit out of the car and take it to a car radio installer/supplier/repairer and get it RE-CODED the chances of the NEWer Jaguar company that exists today still having a record of a 1990's 4 digit radio code is SLIM ,records dont always go back forever for items like radio codes, and IF THE CODES already BEEN CHANGED on that unit as thousands have been from cars of this era because an owner "lost it" then getting the original code wont help im afraid, have it re-coded and keep a safe note of the new code its a simple 4 digit number inexpensive to have done regards
Hi Glenn
Many thanks for the response; fortunately, we were very lucky........Stratstone, Stourbridge were very helpful and came back to us with the (correct) code in half an hour, job done!
We think that you may be the Glenn whom we met on the club stand at NEC in March, in which case we did purchase at the CCA sale........our '92 66K mile Phase 1 facelift 4.0 in Blue Diamond. Some fettling being carried out......new windscreen and we decided to have a new front lower panel (sourced fro Florida!) but we are well happy.
Thankyou for your timely advice at the show
